Successful D-Day 80th anniversary exhibition in Constantine

The D Day anniversary held at the Tolmen Centre on 6th June 2024 has proved to be a great success with nearly one hundred locals and visitors coming to view the exhibition.

There were photographic displays, numerous was objects, personal stories, loaned materials and also lovely scale models of a frigate, USA landing craft and a tank. A DVD of D -Day was shown on the big screen with music from the period being played all day
Both inside the hall and outside of the Tolmen Centre were beautifully decorated with union jacks and stars and stripes bunting. Refreshments were served all day.

Sally Coot, one of the organisers said
“The day went really well, and we are now already making plans for the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe Day) next year.”
